Interested in becoming a Senator?

The Senate is composed by the number of enrolled students from the previous academic year, there shall be one senator per every 360 students at the Providence Campus. Students considering running for office must have a GPA of 2.50 or higher and be willing to commit to stay for the majority of the year at the university.

Elections for the Senate are hosted every year during the SGA Fall and Spring General Elections or during special elections if there are vacant position.

Interested in leading SGA?

The Executive Board is composed by the Association President, Executive Vice President, Speaker of the Senate, Treasurer, and Secretary. In order to qualify to run for office, one must have a year of service as an Executive Member in a club or organization at Johnson & Wales University or serve for 2 terms as a University Senator. Students considering running for office must be willing to commit to stay for a whole year at the university and have a GPA of 2.75 or higher.

Elections for the Executive Cabinet are hosted every year during the SGA Spring General Elections or during special elections if there is a vacant position.

I want to represent SGA!

There are many opportunities for students to be involved within SGA. Students can serve as associate members of the Association, and work in any of the following positions:

  • Student Liaison
  • Social Media Coordinator
  • Graphic Design Coordinator
