About JWright Counseling & Consultation
JWright Counseling and Consultation provides evidence-based psycho-therapeutic services for adults and children ages 14 to 80+ living in the Philadelphia and Delaware country tri-state area. JWright Counseling & Consultation provides services in an outpatient setting using telehealth or video format. We hope to provide in-person services within the next 1 year.
Our target demographic is individuals experiencing a wide variety of mild to moderate mental health challenges that include but are not limited to depression, anxiety, trauma, career guidance, confidence issues, anger management, caregiver burnout, compassion fatigue, systemic multi-cultural issues, men’s emotional health, intellectual disabilities, Autism, parenting challenges, spiritual guidance, and problems associated with aging.

History
Having been impacted by social economic and community plagues our Founder Jermain L. Wright created his company out of a need to be of service to others by fostering opportunities for restorative growth and healing.
Jermain was born in raised in the Philadelphia region and spent the first half of his life living in the South Philadelphia region. As a young child, Jermain struggled with understanding how the trauma that he experienced as a result of living in poor socio-economic conditions negatively impacted his emotional growth and development. As Jermain sought support to overcome his own personal traumas, he recognized the need to play a role in helping others to also become their best versions of themselves.
As a child, Jermain was exposed to community violence, and an unstable home because of substance use, neglect, and extreme bullying. Through God’s grace, Jermain was able to overcome his emotional challenges and went on to serve in the United States Army for over 6 years. Initially, Jermain sought to have a career in enforcement; however, Jermain’s father passed away from heart disease that was triggered by long-term use of substances. Thus, out of tragedy, Jermain developed the desire to want to become well-versed in conditions that foster the development of destructive coping mechanisms by learning and understanding the emotions of his community from a clinical orientation.
Jermain is clinically trained by the Beck Institute and certified to provide cognitive behavior therapy. Jermain also has specialized training in treating PTSD and is a certified practitioner of Exposure therapy certified by The center for treatment and study of anxiety disorders. Jermain also provides clinical supervision for students seeking to become licensed and clinical supervision to individuals seeking to become certified practitioners of exposure therapy.
JW counseling and consultation is in year one of providing services; however, Jermain hopes to be a premier provider of mental health and behavioral health services for years to come. Currently, JW counseling and consultation is a self-pay private practice. We provide services to members from all walks of life; however, our focus is on services for everyday members living within the community. We understand the need for representation and quality care; thus, services are offered on a sliding scale. JW counseling and consultation accepts all major credit card and health saving accounts. We hope to be credentialed to accept all major commercial insurance and state Medicaid insurance within the next 1 year
