After meeting with Client A in our Adult On-Site Clinic at SLCC (see OTA 1240/1250), I created an adaptive device to help anyone with reduced grip strength to more easily remove the cap from an Expo dry erase marker. As an instructor at SLCC, Client A used Expo markers often, but removing the cap was difficult and painful due to the auto-immune disorder. I researched 3D printing plans and found one that could be altered slightly to fit my idea. I learned 3D printing software to make the alterations and Professor Gabe Byars used the OTA program's 3D printer to make the actual device. I added a few extra features and did some finish work on the plastic itself and dubbed the creation the "Yes! Cap" for dry erase markers.
