06 July 2026:                  Add mock types for Iterable, Consumer, Predicate UnaryOperator, Comparator.

29 November 2011 JWalk 1.1 pushed out into Computer Science teaching at the University of Sheffield.

01 September 2011 New multi-threaded JWalk GUI working well, with JWalking Jimbo showing visual progress.

10 June 2011 Finished new website in Computer Science offering JWalk, with new guide pages.

23 May 2011 Finally fixed problem of stalling the animation thread when running out of memory!

21 May 2011 Multi-threading is awful.  Out of memory can break any one of four different threads.

18 May 2011 Extended JWalk notifications to handle multi-threaded dispatch sources.

14 May 2011 Running a worker thread in background causes exception-handling mysteries.

03 May 2011 Start project to multi-thread JWalk, so JWalking Jimbo indicates progress of the tool.

12 March 2010 Tested fix to the multiple ClassLoader problem, which caused alias classes on reloading.

10 March 2010 Bug relating to ClassLoader, when custom generator not recognising third-party class.

07 December 2009 My students have produced demonstration JWalk applets, using the JWalk toolkit.

13 November 2009 Gave a seminar on JWalk to Reiko Heckel's group at the University of Leicester.

23 October 2009 Changes to JWalk website:  more examples in the User Guide and more Adopters.

05 September 2009 JWalk tool demo at TAIC PART 2009.  Found hard bugs in 5 out of 10k tests in 45 min.

04 September 2009 Presented our paper:  "Dynamic analysis of algebraic structure..." at TAIC PART 2009.

26 May 2009 Master's project with Rafet Ongun, to generate state diagrams using the JWalk toolkit.

29 March 2009 Fixed JWalk licensing system, so that each license works for one installation only.

09 March 2009 Gave a seminar on JWalk to our own Verification and Testing Research Group.

25 February 2009 Refactoring the TestCase hierarchy in JWalk, to handle better enums, constructors and methods.

20 February 2009 Provided EnumGenerator and traps for requests to instantiate interfaces and abstract classes.

17 February 2009 Widened the ReportListener event-handling framework to handle all notifications and queries.

10 February 2009 Offloaded the custom settings to a new panel, with two pop-up dialogs.

02 February 2009 Designing the look-and-feel of the JWalk Tester GUI.  Sizing panels in Swing is difficult.

05 January 2009 Erik Tittel and Mihai-Gabriel Glont make best  prototype JWalk GUIs from the toolkit.

12 December 2008 "Team Dave" builds a JWalk webservice from the toolkit.  Deep testing kills the webserver!

05 December 2008 Students build a JWalk marker from the toolkit.  Grades the quality of submitted classes.

16 October 2008 Production release JWalk 1.0 is done!  Test strategy and modality are now fully independent.

08 October 2008 Rebuild JWalk, with faster method for state hashing and comparison.  Full algebraic pruning!

16 August 2008 Chris Thomson presents our paper:  "Feedback-based specification..." at TAIC PART 2008.

11 August 2008 Wenwen Zhao hashes strings for test sequences, to allow full state comparison.

14 March 2008 JWalk 0.8 solves the multiple ClassLoader problem using a dynamic ClassLoader for the test class.

06 March 2008 Problem with ClassLoader reloading the test class while not quitting the current runtime.

03 December 2007 First JWalk journal paper published in Automated Software Engineering, 14 (4), 369-418.

15 November 2007 Neil Griffiths has created a JWalkEditor using the JWalk toolkit.

12 September 2007 Our short paper "JWalk versus JUnit" and a poster are presented at TAIC PART 2007.

05 September 2007  Peter Lamb adds category-partition testing to JWalk.  Alas, not yet habitable.

18 May 2007 JWalk 0.8 beta released.  Fixes oracle memory, and reporting before out of memory issues.

10 May 2007 Gave a seminar on JWalk to Software Engineering students at City College, Thessaloniki.

25 April 2007 JWalk 0.8 alpha has new high-level state detection algorithm, based on state predicates.

05 January 2007 Started work on JWalk 0.8.  Develop new algebra and state-space detection algorithms.

04 December 2006 JWalk 0.7 beta goes live.  Revisions to the website.  New command-line parameters.

18 July 2006 Chris Thomson creates a JWalk plugin for the Eclipse IDE, using the toolkit.

05 June 2006 JWalk 0.6 beta goes live.  Refactors all of the test-drivers so each does one kind of test.

19 May 2006 JWalk 0.5 beta goes live.  Now includes the target in generated objects, for equals-tests.

12 May 2006 JWalk 0.3 beta goes live.  Can synthesize basic types, strings and objects.  Simple website.
