I am an Assistant Professor in Economics (non-tenure track) at the ifo Institute for Economic Research and LMU Munich and a CESifo Network member.
I completed my PhD at LMU Munich in 2023, including a one-year research stay at the University of Cambridge.
My research spans the Economics of digital transformation and political economy: I am interested in why democracies can fail to generate outcomes reflecting people's preferences and understanding the consequences of digital technologies for the future of work.
I employ quantitative methods for causal inference and machine learning methods to complex datasets, including online job vacancy postings, cell phone mobility data, and credit & debit card transactions. My research is partly funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft through CRC TRR 190 (pr. nr. 280092119).
My research has received broad press coverage.
