Ju-Ying Yang

I am a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at Kansas State University.

I earned Ph.D. in Public Administration and Policy from SUNY Albany in 2023. My dissertation entitled “How Municipalities Transition to Renewable Energy and Address Problems that Occur in the Process: A Comparative Case Study of Four Texas Municipalities”. 

I earned a MPA degree from Florida State University and a dual bachelor degree in Public Administration and Accounting from National Taipei University. 

My master's thesis "Performance Management: Performance Management: The Feasibility Study of Performance Management in Municipal Governments in the U.S.A." has awarded The Best Masters Students Paper by Southeastern Conference of Public Administration (SECoPA) in 2012.

My research interest is energy policy and current research project is discussing decision-making process of local governments transition from fossil fuels to renewables.

In addition to research, my teaching experience spans diverse settings—in-person, online, and hybrid. My teaching portfolio encompasses a range of courses, including an introductory undergraduate course on Public Policy, as well as advanced courses at the graduate level such as Public Policy Analysis, Public Personnel Administration, Strategic Management, Intergovernmental Relations, and Global Climate Governance and Energy Policy.
