Welcome to Stroud's JUST SUST Festival of Sustainable Clothing at the Mill!

This day is for everyone! FREE to attend - come and browse the makers' market, meet the creatives - take part in the flax demos + learn how to Japanese weave. Spray paint your own festival merch - bring a preloved plain garment. Book your clothes in for a mend + have your life captured in a poem by Sonny, our Festival Bard!

A night of stylish reclaimed clothing design, a community Runway Show of the Preloved, plus pay-as-you can food, music & dance!

Why?

We've been asked this question many times. The answer seems clear why not? The fashion industry has long dictated what clothes we wear while also continuing to be in the top three world polluters. It seems that we've forgotten how to care for our clothes and have got used to unsustainable, throwaway habits.

A bit of revolution is part of Stroud's make up - so, a sassy, grass-roots, shake-up, indie event that brings community, connection, making, learning and creativity to the mix seemed a fit for a festival!

When & Where?

For our inaugural event we are borrowing some of the spaces at Brimscombe Mill and its Sanctuary venue where our joint values collide within an old textile mill.

Saturday 28th February 2026

The event is timed to coincide with Sustainable Fashion Week's Future Citizen campaign and is scheduled to best fit student schedules.

Plus, don't forget, the dark nights of winter are the perfect chance to make your refashioned outfit. So, get stitching, knitting, darning, dyeing, designing, swapping or simply restyling your finds in time to register for the show!

How to join in?

This is a community celebration and we want you ALL to be involved - young or old, professionals or hobbyists - including designs for your pets!

Get your school, college & community group involved. Individually or communally, design your outfit from found garments or cloth. Use repair, change the colour, embellish, or simply up-style through your swaps.

Are you ready to be 'SUST' positive? Join us for this community-built festival of the preloved!
