Project Summary
This project involved the design, analysis, and fabrication of 22 pressure tolerant electronics junction blocks, used to sum battery power into a single input into a sub-sea recording system. I designed the block using molded urethane encapsulated in a plastic housing, to allow for the use of thinner enclosure material and save on weight and cost. I also designed the urethane molds and selected and procured all required electrical connectors. I conducted structural analysis using FEA in Ansys and also designed a physical pressure tests to validate its performance under representative load cycles. I generated detailed assembly documentation and reviewed it with our lead technicians for feedback. I managed the material procurement and fabrication of all components and assisted with the assembly.
