Elinor (Lowe?) (~1657)

A search of the Bristol Archives yields some interesting clues.

1675 Marriage of John Cary and Elener Lowe - In the Parish registers for the church St. Philip and Jacob, in Bristol England, there is a marriage record for John Cary and Elener Lowe. The marriage date is October 14, 1675. If this Elener Lowe is our Elinor, then her date of birth is likely before 1660, which would make her about 10 years older than her second husband John Thruston. This seems unusual but certainly possible.

So, searching back for a baptism of Elenor Lowe results in this finding:

1657 Baptism of Elnor Loe - In the Parish registers for the church St. Philip and Jacob, in Bristol England, there is a baptismal record for Elnor Loe, daughter of John and Elnor Loe, on November 17, 1657.

1689 Death of John Cary - In the Parish registers for the church St. Philip and Jacob, in Bristol England, there is a burial record for a John , "son of Mr. John Cary", buried on February 18, 1689. This may be Elinor's son, John. Or it could be her husband, John, who also had a father named John Cary. Since our Elinor married John Thruston in 1690, a death date for her first husband in 1689 fits nicely.
