About Me

In January 2017, I graduated from Suffolk County Community College with an associates degree in Radio and Television production with a 4.0 GPA. After I received my associates degree, I decided to further my education by pursuing a degree in Broadcasting and Mass Communications from SUNY Oswego starting in January 2017. During my first semester at SUNY Oswego, I received a 3.80 GPA along with the President's List Award from college president Deborah Stanley.

College Experience

At Suffolk County Community College, the college was fortunate enough to have a remote broadcast van that could live stream events for the college website. The remote van contained fully functional replay, live video switching, and audio control for a real world broadcasting experience. Over the course of time working on the Remote Van, I eventually became the lead Technical Director for all events streamed through the van. As the lead Technical Director, I was responsible for video switching on a NewTek Ticaster 860 as well as uploading all graphical and video packages to graphics and video playback devices. I was also responsible for overseeing the production staff and providing equipment training whenever necessary. Some of the events that were broadcasted across the college included a Shakespearean play, a winter musical concert, and sports events such as basketball and volleyball games.

At SUNY Oswego, I am an active member at WTOP-10 TV, SUNY Oswego's student run television station that broadcasts programs throughout campus television. Since May 2017, I have served on WTOP-10's engineering management team, serving as a maintenance engineer for the station. As a maintenance engineer, I am responsible for maintaining studio related equipment such as cameras, audio boards, and video switchers for users to gain easy access for video productions. In addition, I am also responsible for setting up live sports equipment for college hockey and basketball games to insure the production crew can work with effective and functional equipment. I also live switch talk shows, nightly news casts, and live sports games on a 2 M/E Ross Carbonite video switcher. I oversee the technical crew throughout the production and utilize live Chroma keying for background graphical effects.

Internship Experience

In fall 2016, I started my first internship working for the Suffolk County Community College media services department. Working for the media services department provided me with very exciting and interesting opportunities for my field. It was my job to collaborate with a production team to organize video interviews and projects to be featured on the college website. I was responsible for scripting, organizing interviews, and information gathering to make the production run as quickly and smoothly as possible. I was responsible for editing videos together in Adobe Premiere Pro and uploading videos to YouTube to make the college related videos accessible for students and faculty alike. I also utilized Adobe After Effects to make animated graphical templates that are still frequently used for other projects within the department.

During the summer of 2017, I interned at a local marketing agency called The Public Relations and Marketing Group (The PRMG) as a video production intern. At The PRMG, I gained real working experience editing local television commercials and social media advertisements for clients across Long Island. I created edited commercials and social media advertisements in Adobe Premiere Pro and created graphics in Adobe After Effects and Adobe Photoshop. I also frequently collaborated and communicated with staff within the agency to insure commercials and graphics meet the demands and expectations of the clients.

In addition, I was responsible for undertaking pre-production and production tasks for the agency. During pre-production, I created scripts, ordered voice-overs, and obtained photo and video releases from featured talent to use for the production. During the production process, I participated in several photo and video shoots for the company. Utilizing a Panasonic AG-DVX200 4K Camcorder, I recorded commercial footage for companies such as Charles Rutenberg Realty, The Lobster Roll Restaurant, McPeak's Assisted Living, and a new baseball park for The Village of Islandia. In addition, I also utilized a DSLR Cannon Rebel to participate in photography shoots for Dreamland Amusements and Ben's Kosher Deli.
