Attended the largest IAC to date where I presented two papers: One on making deep space accessible to the commercial sector, and the other on recommendations for preflight suborbital medical selection.

Start of Medical Studies at University of Toronto

Human Performance in Space Teaching Associate
Spent the summer of 2019 working under NASA chief of innovation, Omar Hatamaleh and former Lead Flight surgeon, Volker Damann as a Human Performance teaching associate for the Summer Space Studies Program

Student Aerospace Challenge Suborbital Project
Presented the work of our team, Operation Rising Dawn consisting of engineers and doctors around the world. We tackled the problem of defining what medical selection will look like for the everyday suborbital flight passenger.

Assisting with Astronaut Return
Helped the medical operations team at the European Astronaut Center with the return of Alexander Gerst to earth. Alexander now spends two weeks in quarantine in the envihab beginning his recovery

ARD-alpha Television recording
Demonstrated pre-flight astronaut medical training for German Television station ARD-alpha at the European Astronaut Centre. The episode was aired January 2019.

DLR Human Physiology Workshop
Attended the 3rd German Human Physiology Workshop at the German Aerospace Center in Cologne. This Workshop featured the latest findings in human physiological research and space research performed on site.

International Space University Graduation
On this day I graduated from the International Space University with the Cum Laude designation (awarded to only 4 students in the class). This was the culmination of a difficult year venturing into unfamiliar, engineering, space law and management fields, but it was but worth every bit of struggle!

ESA Space Physician Training Course
The European Astronaut Center forsees many educational activities in the future. i had the pleasure of participating in the first space physician training course with individuals around the world, and guest lectures from flight surgeons, and biomedical engineers.

2018 International Astronautical Congress
I was fortunate to attend the International Astronautical Congress in Bremen, Germany where i gave a talk for my ISU team project newSTARTS, and connected with various space medicine professionals. Got to make connections with international aerospace companies, and government agencies. Was fortunate to witness a live change of command on the ISS.

SGAC YoungESA Award
I was awarded the Young-ESA diversity scholarship by the Space Generation Advisory Council. This is a full scholarship to attend the Space Generation Congress, and the International Astronautical Congress in Bremen, Germany.

DLR Spin Your Thesis Study
Was fortunate to participate in this human centrifuge study joint collaboration between DLR and ESA. i was testing one of my cardiovascular devices in hypergravity.

Started Internship at European Astronaut Center
Began this internship at the European Astronaut Center in Cologne, Germany, where I am supporting the Space Medicine Office, and working on designing new devices for non-invasively monitoring cardiovascular conditioning in space.

newSTARTS Team Presentation
Created and executed team presentation for team project that I Control Managed. We presented to industry and government experts, and live streamed the presentation on Youtube.

ISU Final Individual Thesis Presentation
Presented my individual project on cardiovascular deconditioning in long duration space-flight, and methods to monitor cardiovascular conditioning in astronauts.

Participated in this elective where featuring guest lecturers from prominent astrobiologists like Chris McKay, and took a visit to the Hoffman nobel prize winning lab in Strasbourg France.

Life Support Systems Elective
Participated in this LSS elective featuring guest lectures from the German Space Agency, and UNI stuttgart. We designed Life Support Sytems using simulations on the ELISSA database. I am currently designing a phone game that applies the LSS principles from this elective.

Professional Visit to ESOC
Along with MSS2018, I had the wonderful opportunity to visit the European Space Operations Center (ESOC) In Darmstadt Germany. Here I saw ESA's Satellite Navigation Support Office, and Space Debris Reference Facility.

ISU Moon Village Workshop
Attended the ISU Moon Village Workshop, where I had the opportunity to engage in discussions on the themes of robotic and human settlement on the moon. The Workshop was concluded with a message from the second person to land on the moon - Buzz Aldrin.

I had the pleasure participating in the ISU space medicine workshop where we performed ultrasound techniques. I afterwards met ESA Space Surgeon Sergi Vaquer (middle) where we discussed space medicine topics with Dr. Volker Damann (right).

1st Place Rocket Launch Competition
My team "Soyuz Think you can Dance" Placed 1st in the Annual International Space University rocket launch competition after designing a rocket to fly 100 m safely returning a vial of vodka and a quail egg payload.

Began my 1.5 year journey at the International Space University in Strasbourg France pursuing a Masters in Space Studies .
