About:
Jura's Grove is our private home where we live full time. That being said, we are very protective of our privacy and security here. Typically our events are by invite only, though if you want to be added to our ever growing community of trusted guests and music lovers, send us an email and we will conduct a brief vetting process to see how you fit within our community.
We first learned about "House concerts" a few years ago, and immediately decided that we would like to be a part of the music community by hosting artists at our home.
What is a House Concert?
Historically, prior to the prevalence of recorded music, and modern concert halls, this is the place you would hear music. From the days of classical music into the early 1900s a group of friends and family would gather together in the living room and listen to a live performance. Nothing beats the intimate setting of being up close and personal with the performers, with very few audience members, and the ability to see, hear and feel the music. House concerts have continued to be a exciting way for up and coming artists to showcase their music to new audiences, in an intimate, up close and personal setting, in addition you never know when the opportunity might come up to book more established singer songwriters, and performers. Typically in the house concert setting, a suggested donation between 10-20$ per person will be asked which goes directly to the artists. With opportunities to meet the artists, and merchandise sales.
We have two scenarios on our property for these opportunities: the very intimate setting inside the timber framed great room, where we can fit approximately 30-40 people, and our back yard outdoor setting where we can accommodate many more. The two tiers rising up from the back porch stage into the lawn create a natural amphitheater, where the sound carries beautifully, with plenty of room to spread out, and relax, while still being in full view of the artists. every seat in the house is excellent.
