Hi everyone, I'm Junyu! I am a PhD student in the Computer and Information Science Department at the University of Pennsylvania. I was an undergraduate visiting student at Penn in 2023 and started my research on quantum computing since then. I received my B.S. in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics from Wuhan University in 2024 and I graduated from Yali High School (founded in 1906 by Yale-in-China) in 2020.
I am working at Penn Quantum System Lab, advised by Gushu Li. I have a broad interest in multiple research areas of quantum computing, including but not limited to designing stable and high-performance quantum software (quantum compiler/quantum computer architecture), quantum algorithm design/optimization for scientific discovery, and machine learning for quantum hardware calibration. My goal is to contribute to the development of next-gen quantum computers for practical use.
My office is next to the world's first general-purpose electronic computer: ENIAC.
