Researching Motivation, Identity, and Achievement

Hi, I'm Junlin! I study motivational and social processes relevant to students' learning and achievement.


My work examines the interplay of motivation and identity to promote student learning and achievement. Two overarching questions that guide my research are:

My work combines substantive research topics with latent variable models (structural, multilevel, and longitudinal modelling, latent profile analysis) to identify psychological barriers to learning and inform how to intervene effectively.

I am a researcher at the University of Helsinki, Faculty of Educational Sciences. Previously I received my PhD and MPhil from the University of Cambridge as a Cambridge Trust Scholar.
