Ranger Guidelines
Important guidelines for all Junior Ranger candidates to remember while enjoying the Santa Rosa Plateau:
Wear long pants and comfortable closed toe walking shoes (no sandals).
Keep an eye out for rattle snakes; if you see one on the trail, wait until it moves off the trail and stay well back and take care not to disturb it.
Bring drinking water. (You can refill in the visitor center)
Stay on trails, and beware of Poison Oak.
Do not pick the flowers; they will produce the seeds for next year.
Don't remove anything such as rocks, plants or tags you may see on plants. Some plants are tagged for special studies.
Make sure not to leave any litter behind.
Note that there is little to no cell phone service at the Plateau and there is no WiFi or cellular data service except at the Visitor center.
