     These words are all important for understanding the natural environment of the Santa Rosa Plateau.  Study the words below, and then complete the matching worksheet without looking at this list!  No peeking! 1.  Habitat-  The place where an organism lives.

2.  Mammal-  A warm-blooded animal that has fur and gives birth to live young

3.  Omnivore-  An animal that eats both plants and animals.

4.  Predator-  An animal that hunts and eats other animals.

5.  Prey-  An animal that is hunted and eaten by other animals.

6.  Reptile-  A cold-blooded animal with scales.

7.  Carnivore-  An animal that eats meat (including insects).

8.  Herbivore-  An animal that eats plants.
