Biography
I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Biomedical Informatics at the College of Medicine, The Ohio State University, working under the mentorship of Dr. Dongjun Chung. I received my Ph.D. in Statistics from Korea University in February 2025, where I was advised by Dr. Seung Jun Shin.
Before beginning my academic career, I served for 14 years as a commissioned officer in the Republic of Korea Army, attaining the rank of Major. I am a graduate of the Korea Military Academy (KMA) and bring to my research a solid foundation in leadership, discipline, and collaborative problem-solving.
My research focuses on the intersection of statistical methodology and machine learning, with particular interest in high-dimensional data analysis, sufficient dimension reduction, spatial transcriptomics, and deep learning applications in biomedical informatics. I am dedicated to advancing innovative statistical tools and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration to address complex challenges in biomedical science.
