If you want a vintage aesthetic with over-ear comfort and Hi-Fi stereo sound for long listening sessions, choose Junfamilee Retro Over-Ear Headphone; if you need a modern USB-C connection that delivers sound isolation and comes with an extensive warranty, choose LUDOS Zenith USB C.
• Junfamilee Retro Over-Ear Headphone: Its biggest strength is the classic underwire design paired with plush ear cushions for all-day wear, but it relies on a standard 3.5mm jack which limits direct connectivity to newer port-only devices. This pick is for audiophiles who prioritize style and physical comfort over wireless convenience.
• LUDOS Zenith USB C: Its biggest strength is the native USB-C connectivity that plugs directly into modern smartphones without adapters, offering excellent sound isolation in a compact form factor. However, it is an in-ear design that lacks the over-ear coverage some users prefer for studio monitoring. This pick is for the mobile user who needs reliability and a five-year warranty.
The Junfamilee Retro Over-Ear Headphone is built for the listener who values atmosphere as much as audio fidelity. The design immediately sets itself apart from the sea of generic black plastic headphones by leaning heavily into a vintage theme. It features an underwire headband that not only adds a distinct retro visual appeal but also serves a functional purpose by ensuring a secure fit that adapts to various head shapes. If you are looking for the best comfortable neckband headphones for dj or simply someone who wants to feel like they are stepping back in time while listening to music, this model hits that sweet spot. The "vintage feelings" aren't just marketing fluff; the metallic finish and deep black styling give it an understated class that fits well in coffee shops, home offices, or during long commutes.
Audio performance is driven by dynamic drivers capable of a frequency range spanning from 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz. This specification suggests a balanced output designed to handle both the deep bass notes required for immersive movie watching and the crisp highs needed for vocal clarity. While the product description emphasizes Hi-Fi stereo capabilities, the lack of active noise cancellation means you will hear your surroundings, which can be a trade-off in noisy environments but allows for situational awareness. The enclosure material is plastic, keeping the unit lightweight, though the listed specifications give no specific weight figure. This lightness is crucial for anyone planning to wear these for hours without fatigue.
Comfort is arguably the standout feature here. The ear cups utilize plush materials described as soft leather, which pairs with the adjustable headband to create a cushioning effect that many over-ear models struggle to match. For the DJ who needs to monitor tracks for extended periods or the podcast enthusiast who wants to avoid ear strain, these memory foam-like ear cushions provide a significant advantage. The controls are straightforward push buttons for media playback, keeping the experience intuitive without needing complex touch gestures. Since there is no built-in media storage and no wireless technology, the focus remains entirely on the wired connection through the 3.5mm jack. This makes them ideal for older laptops, desktop setups, or any device that still carries a headphone port.

However, this product is not for everyone. If you own a phone that has moved exclusively to USB-C ports and you do not carry an adapter, these headphones will require an extra dongle to function. If your primary use case involves blocking out a loud gym or a busy subway, the passive isolation of the over-ear cup might not be enough. Furthermore, the lack of wireless capability means you are tethered to your device, which can be a constraint for active users. But for the stationary listener who cherishes the tactile feel of a retro accessory and the soundstage of over-ear drivers, the Junfamilee offers a compelling package.
The LUDOS Zenith USB C headphones take a completely different approach, focusing on modern connectivity and durability rather than retro aesthetics. As the name implies, these are designed specifically for the ecosystem of devices utilizing the USB Type-C port, ranging from the latest iPhone 17 and iPad Pro models to Samsung Galaxy S24 and A-series phones. The most immediate benefit for a buyer here is the elimination of the 3.5mm jack problem. You can plug these directly into your device without fumbling for adapters, making them an instant solution for users who have transitioned to port-only smartphones. The in-ear shape is engineered for portability, fitting discreetly in pockets and bags, which is a stark contrast to the bulkier over-ear design of its competitor.
In terms of audio engineering, the Zenith utilizes dynamic drivers with an impedance of 32 ohms and a frequency range of 20Hz to 20,000Hz. These figures indicate a standard audio profile capable of delivering clear sound across the spectrum. While the frequency range matches the Junfamilee, the in-ear placement changes the listening experience significantly. The enclosure material is Thermoplastic Elastomer (TPE), a choice that prioritizes flexibility and durability over the rigid plastic or metal found in other designs. This material choice likely contributes to a snug fit that aids in passive sound isolation.
A major selling point for the LUDOS Zenith is the warranty coverage. The product information explicitly mentions a 5-year warranty, a level of confidence in build quality that is rare in the consumer electronics market. This suggests the manufacturer expects the product to last, which is a strong indicator for value-conscious buyers who hate replacing cheap cables every few months. The control scheme involves a mix of touch and button controls for call management, allowing for hands-free operation which is essential for commuters or professionals on the go. The color option of Pink adds a touch of personality, moving away from the monochrome black usually seen in professional audio gear.
This product is particularly relevant for the DJ who needs the best noise cancelling open ear earbuds for dj work in a pinch, although technically these are closed in-ear monitors. The sound isolation helps in monitoring beats in loud environments without the need for bulky over-ear cans. However, the in-ear form factor means you lose the spacious soundstage that over-ear headphones provide. If you prefer feeling the bass physically resonate in your head rather than through your ears, the Zenith might feel less immersive. Additionally, the lack of a 3.5mm jack means you cannot use these with older computers or legacy audio equipment without an adapter. They are strictly modern devices, tethered to the USB-C standard.
For users who travel frequently, the compact size of the Zenith is a massive advantage. You won't have to worry about crushing the ear cups in your bag. The TPE material is also resistant to wear and tear, making it suitable for rough handling. Yet, if you have sensitive ears that dislike the pressure of in-ear tips, this product will be uncomfortable after a short time. The battery life is not a factor since these are wired, but the cable itself is a component that can fail. Fortunately, the 5-year warranty mitigates this risk. Ultimately, the LUDOS Zenith is for the pragmatic user who wants a reliable, high-quality wired connection that works out of the box with their modern smartphone, backed by a promise of longevity.

• Best for Modern Connectivity → LUDOS Zenith USB C: Native USB-C support means zero adapters needed for the latest smartphones and tablets.
• Best for Long-Session Comfort → Junfamilee Retro Over-Ear Headphone: Plush over-ear cushions reduce pressure points better than in-ear tips for hours of listening.
• Best for Noise Isolation → LUDOS Zenith USB C: The in-ear design creates a natural seal that blocks ambient noise more effectively than open over-ear cups.
• Best for Durability & Warranty → LUDOS Zenith USB C: A five-year warranty provides peace of mind that the Junfamilee does not explicitly offer.
• Best for Studio Monitoring Setup → Junfamilee Retro Over-Ear Headphone: The 3.5mm jack and over-ear design are more traditional for connecting to audio interfaces and mixing desks.
• Best for Travel Portability → LUDOS Zenith USB C: The compact in-ear form factor takes up minimal space in a pocket or small bag.
• Best for Battery-Free Reliability → Both: Neither product requires charging, ensuring they work instantly whenever plugged in.
After weighing the design philosophies and technical specifications of both options, I would personally buy the Junfamilee Retro Over-Ear Headphone for my daily setup. The combination of the vintage underwire design, the plush over-ear cushions, and the wide frequency response creates a more immersive and comfortable listening experience for stationary activities like working at a desk or relaxing at home. The ability to adjust the headband and the sheer comfort of the ear cups make it superior for long durations, which is critical for anyone using headphones for DJing or extended study sessions. While the LUDOS Zenith is an excellent choice for its portability and warranty, the Junfamilee offers a richer sensory experience that feels more like a premium audio accessory than a simple utility tool. If you are looking for the best memory foam ear cushions over ear headphones for dj or general entertainment, the over-ear form factor wins out for pure sound immersion and comfort.
