Sushant presented our work on biochemical conversion of hardwood forest residues to generate high-value biobased products at the third biennial Northern Hardwood Conference (NHC 2025) held in Syracuse, New York.

AWESOME lab and SBBL lab's members participated in NABEC 2025 held at Cornell University, Ithaca. We had a strong presence through multiple poster presentations and oral talks, highlighting ongoing research efforts in bioprocessing technologies.

Dr. Juneja (Co-PI) received funding from Northeastern States Research Cooperative (NSRC) with Drs. Kumar (PI), Yoo, and Volk to work on the project “Eco-Friendly Packaging Innovations – Developing Biocomposites from Nanocellulose, Polyhydroxybutyrate, and Lignin Obtained from Forest Biomass”.

Dr. Juneja received a Clarkson ESF Healthy Water Solutions CoE grant, titled "Functionalized Biochar Pouches for Nutrient Capture and HAB Mitigation in Eutrophic Waters " in collaboration with Dr. Sitaraman Krishnan at Clarkson University.

Dr. Juneja got funding from NYS Center of Excellence in Healthy Water Solutions to work on High-Capacity Selective Sorbents for Recovery of Nutrients from Eutrophic Waters, in collaboration with Dr. Dhara Trivedi from Clarkson University.

Dr. Juneja got funding as a PI from Northeastern States Research Cooperative (NSRC) to work on sustainable co-production of bioplastics and hydrochar from forest residue biomass. Co-PIs from ESF: Dr. Deepak Kumar, Dr. Obste Therasme, Dr. Tim Volk, and Dr. Tristan Brown.
