What level of support does jumpcloud offer for windows home users? Am going to test it out this week. Hopefully this never becomes something I have to deal with. But was wondering others experience.
Sorry to hear you are having some issues here with the JumpCloud Agent. Would love to try and assist and figure out what could be causing this. The "takeover" of a local windows account is contingent upon a few things.

First, you need to make sure that you have a local profile on the machine since that is what the JC agent manages. That means, that any Active Directory, Windows Live (Work or School Account), AzureAD profiles will not work properly. I do see often where a user is logged into a windows work or or school account, and this will cause there to be a password identity issue.
i'm in the same boat, doing everything i can to eliminate AD and our legacy on-prem environment. we looked into jumpcloud and azure, but we already have a MDM for our mac fleet, JAMF, and didn't really want to buy into another IdP since google is so close to having most of what we need.
We are currently on GCPW but we previously used JumpCloud for years. One of the biggest issues with GCPW is password syncing to other windows machines. If you have shared drives on other machines and your password is changed by either expiration or by the end user needing a password reset this doesnt propagate to the other windows machines. IT has to get involved and manually update the passwords on the other computers. If you change your Jumpcloud password all other machines that have the agent installed get the updated password. We have an internal web based application that use Windows authentication. GCPW causes major issues in this regard because the passwords dont propagate. I can see the promise of GCPW but some basic functionality you would expect is missing.
I would highly recommend learning PowerShell. PowerShell is "god mode" for windows and once you learn it, you will find you might not need tool a,b,c,d,e or f. Every environment I was walked in to historically I have stripped out third party tools that cost money and used this native tool.
Once you learn Microsoft SCCM you will never go back to using any third party to manage windows updates. It was one of those rare products that I would say gives you back a 5:1 (in its first year of adoption) in time spent learning vs time saved. Microsoft gave up with Mobiles due to having a low market share and left it to Apple/Android of which Meraki support both.
