Whether this is your first, fifth, or last online undergraduate course, I hope it will be enjoyable for you - and a little different from other classes you've taken. Assistive technology is a challenging topic to teach online - but I'm looking forward to the opportunity to learn with you.
Our semester is divided into 4 sections spread out over 19 days. The section date will indicates the day we will begin each new section. You will be expected to complete all tasks for a section before the next date. For example: Tasks assigned on July 8th will be due July 15th and so on. This format helps to keep you on track but leaves our course flexible enough so that you can work around jobs, families, vacations, internships, etc. Please keep in mind that this is an asynchronous course and you will need to schedule time in your weekly schedule to work on tasks. You'll be completing four weeks worth of tasks for each section so you don't want to wait until the last minute.
New set of tasks posted on website Monday by noon when a new section date begins
Tasks are due at the end of the day on the Monday night a new section begins
Graded tasks are returned by Wednesday afternoon each week, grades available in eLC
Course updates, etc. sent via email as needed, check email at least every other day M-F

Grades will be posted to eLC. Each task assigned will result in a grade in eLC. There are two types of grades: completion grades and rubric/checklist grades. Completion grades are exactly like they sound - do the work as described and receive full credit. Rubric/checklist grades will be graded based on your ability to create projects within rubric/checklist parameters. Each section will include a combination of both completion and rubric/checklist tasks. It will be very obvious which is which.
Grades will be updated on the Wednesday after a section's due date, assuming tasks are turned in on time.
