Explanation

In this assignment, we were tasked to write a paper explaining the CSI Effect and how it affects the real world. The CSI Effect is a phenomenon in which television shows such as "CSI" sway the decisions of jurors in real court cases. We had to demonstrate our understanding of The CSI Effect and support our argument using evidence. This was one of the first major assignments we had for the year, and it was a great introduction to the material we'd be learning throughout the course. I gained a greater understanding of the impact that television has on real-life crime cases while I was completing this assignment.

Reflection

This assignment showcases my ability to conduct research and connect it back to my main argument. It also represents how real-world crime is much different from what television shows and movies portray. We learned that there are many things people don't know about real-life crime, and this assignment was a great way to make that correlation early on. I enjoyed this assignment because I found The CSI Effect extremely fascinating. I enjoyed conducting the research and learning about it along the way.

Explanation

For this assignment, we were tasked to create a presentation on government misconduct within the justice system. We had to research a real instance of government misconduct and demonstrate our understanding of it in our presentation. This assignment fits into the unit because we were able to get further insight into the justice system and how corrupt it can be sometimes. By completing this, I was able to learn about how much power the law has and easily they can abuse it. Cases of government misconduct happen much too often, and there are many cases that we still don't know about.

Reflection

I was challenged by this assignment because while I understood the material, it was difficult to apply it to a presentation that other people could understand. I would improve this assignment by formatting it better and making it easier to understand. I feel as if it was a little confusing for the audience, and we weren't able to get our main points across while presenting. I learned how important it is to create an effective presentation that can captivate an audience, and next time I will properly apply this knowledge to create a good presentation
