Biography
In 2012, I began my teaching journey in Yorkville, Illinois. Some of my greatest accomplishments as a music educator include founding new student ensembles and camps, serving as Yorkville Music Summer Camp Director, adding meaningful performance opportunities for students, increasing enrollment within the instrumental music program, and fostering a safe, supportive environment where students feel comfortable learning, performing, and connecting with others.
In 2023 & 2024, I was honored to receive the “Most Influential Educator Award”, an award based on nominations from graduating high school seniors. I have also enjoyed mentoring student teachers and clinical students from Northern Illinois University, adjudicating ILMEA Senior Auditions and local solo festivals, and working as a marching band technician at Fenton High School.
As a performer, I have appeared as a soloist and in saxophone quartets, wind bands, orchestras, musicals, jazz ensembles, jazz combos, and steel pan ensembles across the Chicagoland area. Internationally, I have had the opportunity to teach and perform in Germany, Croatia, France, Austria, the Netherlands, and Jamaica.
I earned my Master’s Degree in Music Education from Illinois State University, graduating summa cum laude. I also hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education with a Certificate in Saxophone Performance from Elmhurst University. Additionally, I have been teaching private saxophone lessons for over 16 years.
