EMOTIVA - How Emotion Motivate Action

Collaboration with

With the help of several internships: M. Pagliari, C. Dijoux, I. Mentec, J. Serfaty, C. Destais, L. Bottein.

In this interdisciplinary project, we propose to investigate the specific contribution of goal-directed processes to the emergence of adaptive socio-emotional behavior, by pooling together expertise from affective neuroscience, philosophy of action, decision-making and computational modelling. We aim at testing the hypotheses (1) that responses to socio-emotional stimuli, such as facial expressions of others, can engage GD processes, in addition to SR ones; and (2) that not only SR, but also GD processes can covertly – and thus implicitly – influence our decisions in socio-emotional contexts.
