I've been a department head or assistant department head at various pop culture conventions. Currently, I am the Head of Hospitality at Chicago TARDIS; I make sure our celebrities and staff have food and beverages for three days.
Art
I have an Arts Technology degree from Illinois State University, where I focused on web design. However, I am still a professional artist; I specialize in portraiture.
Knitting
I am an avid knitter; I've taught knitting classes at all skill levels. I also ran my own yarn dyeing studio for five years, because the only thing more fun than buying yarn is making yarn.
Open-Source Investigation
I have been teaching myself open-source investigation techniques for the past few years. It's a lot like e-Discovery: so many haystacks, so few needles.
Nerd Stuff
I've been an unrepentant fan of sci-fi and fantasy for most of my life. (Sorry, Star Wars fans; I'm more of a Trekkie.) I'm also a fan of video games and am delighted the industry finally came up with a genre for the games I love best: cozy games.
