Hi! My name is Julie, and I’m an educator who believes in meeting students where they are and helping them grow into confident, capable learners. Over the years, I’ve seen how technology can open doors for students, giving them new ways to explore, create, and show what they know. It has definitely opened doors for me! My goal for this portfolio is to reflect on how the ISTE Student Standards connect to my teaching practice and to build a resource I can use (and add to) as I continue learning.
The ISTE Student Standards serve as a guide for empowering students to take ownership of their learning while becoming thoughtful, responsible, and innovative users of technology. These standards highlight how students can move beyond simply using digital tools. They can collaborate, problem-solve, create, and engage in meaningful ways that prepare them for the world around them.
Developed and refined to reflect our ever-changing digital landscape, the ISTE Student Standards encourage learners to see technology not only as a tool for schoolwork, but also as a pathway to curiosity, creativity, and lifelong learning (ISTE, 2025).
