Observations

Snow Accumulation

Snow accumulation is the amount of snow after or during a snow event/storm. December 15th, 2021 was during a large snow event.

Images A and B were taken before I began to clear the snow off of my car. Image C shows the amount of snow accumulation that occurred between the time I arrived to and left from work.

Interception

Interception occurs when precipitation doesn't reach the ground, but lands on a type of vegetation.

Above, are images and videos taken on December 14th, 2021. I had decided to take a video of the Mountain Man statue in the court yard of the USU Biology building. In the video the surrounding trees exhibit a large amount of interception by their branches. The image on the right is of a tree directly out side of the Quantitative Fisheries and Aquatic Ecology Lab on USU's campus.

Snow (precipitation)

Snow occurs when the temperature reaches below 32°F or 0°C.
