Julianna Morris

If laughter is truly the best medicine, Julianna should be the healthiest person around. Her mother had a fabulous sense of humor...her father not so much. Apparently the rest of the family would be howling with laughter at something, and he would be trying to smile as if he'd gotten the joke. But she says he had a wonderful eye for photography and was a gifted poet.

Julianna can barely remember a time when she didn't want to be a writer. She even started her first novel in sixth grade--a maudlin tale about an injured ballerina that she swears will never see the light of day. That's like, NEVER. It's hidden in a storage unit and she expects that even mice won't have anything to do with the manuscript.

Today Julianna is a fulltime writer, but she has worked as a park ranger, technical advisor and program analyst. While serving as a park ranger, she did natural history talks, living history, campfire programs, and interpretive programs on American patchwork quilting. She has also taught courses on American Patchwork and Quilting, which is one of her favorite art forms.

Julianna loves animals, both wild and domestic, so her household is full. Along with another writer, she feeds a small colony of feral cats.

Her other interests include travel, gardening, canning, hiking, photography, antiquing, classic movies (and some not-so-classic) watercolor painting, sketching and...you know, EVERYTHING.

Someday Julianna hopes to finish a few mystery and science fiction and fantasy novels, along with developing several cozy mystery series. She just wishes there were more hours in the day...
