Hey! I'm Júlia Lobo, a Game Developer from Brazil, and it's a pleasure to have you interested in my work! I've been solving problems in creative ways and creating experiences through games since 2019.
I've been making digital games since I started my Associate's Degree in Informational Technology at Instituto Federal do Rio de Janeiro, in 2019. I’ve experimented a lot with different sides of game development since, but ended up landing on design, production and writing as my true home.
Looking to deepen my understanding in the area, I enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree in Media Studies at Universidade Federal Fluminense, one of the best schools of Communication in Brazil. I also study for an Associate's Degree in Digital Games at Belas Artes, in order to acquire more specialized knowledge in Games. This gave me the opportunity to make great connections and participate in events like Rio2C 2023 and Gamescom Latam 2025. I'm currently still pursuing my degrees.
In 2023, I could take my first step into the industry by landing an internship at Gazeus Games as a Game Design Intern, working on Dominoes Battle. It was an experience of deep learning where I could test my knowledge by getting my hands dirty in a live game with great mentors to help me through everything. I'm currently looking foward to my next oportunity in the industry.
Games are my favorite art medium; I see it as an interactive and creative way to tell stories and bring people together. Usually, I’m up to anything when it comes to gaming, as long as I can experience something new or spend time with good people.
Other things in my day to day life include reading fiction books, watching (mostly) horror movies, scrapbooking and listening to questionable music. I also love to tender to my cacti and create art through crochet!
I've taken a leadership position in most of my academic projects, leaving me the responsability to garantee documentation was up to date and that deadlines were met, helping me develop the knowledge necessary to keeping an organized work environment
Remote work has been proving effective communication and consistent processes are essential to promote good work life. I've been navigating this kind of environment daily for a long time now and can assure good use of it
Having worked with both Sensor Tower and GameRefinery, I've learned to effectively look for data patterns while navigating through analysis tools, doing pitchs and benchmarks for design validation routinely
