This screenplay was written as the final project for a Screenwriting class. The assignment was to write a short film that takes place at Carnegie Mellon and incorporates themes and locations familiar to us as CMU students. The project includes a short screenplay (less than 20 pages), a beat sheet, and a logline. My project is about a young student who becomes obsessed with solving the mystery of the murder that she witnessed on campus, but her obsession hurts her relationships. The screenplay was filmed in the Spring of 2021 with CMU Drama students, and it was edited by Ben Boxer and CJ May. You can access the original script and filming script here, as well as the final video.
This mini-documentary was created for the service organization, Juntos, at Carnegie Mellon University. Alongside the other leaders of the organization, I conducted and filmed interviews over two trips to the Dominican Republic about the experience with education in the small community of Derrumbadero. I edited this video in Final Cut Pro, and the video was presented at Juntos’ alumni reunion in October 2019.
I created this two-part series to prompt the members of Juntos to reflect on their experiences traveling to the Dominican Republic and performing service. The first video highlights our experiences with language as a part of service trips, and the second focuses on the expectations versus the impacts of service.
I edited this video as a part of our 2020 Crowdfunding campaign through Carnegie Mellon. The footage was taken during our past trips to the Dominican Republic, and my goal in this video was to introduce new audiences to our organization and entice them to donate.
This project was assigned as part of my summer internship with Midstory, Toledo’s Media Thinkhub. I worked with two other interns to research and interview the subject, and we wrote the article together. This piece highlights the importance of Toledo’s train station and calls us all to consider how we are revitalizing the city through its unused spaces. I was tasked with creating a video, using Premiere for the first time, that introduces viewers to the train station and shows one man’s connection to the space.
