I worked as a translator for the Publishing House of Electronic Industry (PHEI) and have completed a few more book projects for other publishers as well. The books I translated (shown below) can be purchased from major e-commerce platforms in China.

For me, translation plays a dual role. It allows me to temporarily disconnect from the arduous research work and exposes me to different sets of know-how.

Interestingly, translating a book and writing a paper share some similarities: months or even years must be devoted to a single project; the publication often suffers from unexpected delays (my record is 4 years); and your copy editors can be as nitpicking as your referees (and they expect you to be a better writer than the author).
