World Schools Debate

Overview:

Students in this event participate in a parliamentary style debate in teams of three. They are assigned as Proposition or Opposition. Some of their topics, known as motions, are prepared weeks in advance, but others are selected as "impromptu" and teams have only an hour, with limited resources, to prepare. Students must answer questions offered by opponents throughout their speeches. As judge, you will give numeric scores to each speaker according to the rubric on the ballot.
