This online workshop will draw together interdisciplinary perspectives towards Romance grammatical variation in the context of migration, multilingualism, contact, language oppression and/or other social and material contextual factors in relation to Romance linguistic communities and/or their language practices.
Invited talks
Wednesday 24 March 2-4pm: Doing Romance Linguistics
Roundtable and Q&A with invited speakers Roberta D'Alessandro (Utrecht Institute of Linguistics), Shana Poplack (University of Ottawa), and Almeida Jacqueline Toribio (The University of Texas at Austin).
Thursday 26 March 2-5.30pm: Special session on Ladino and Judeo-Romance
2pm: Public lecture* La diferensia entre el ladino i el kristilyano (in Ladino) and Q&A by Eliezer Papo (Ben-Gurion University of the Negev)
Please note that the public lecture will be given in Judeo-Spanish/Ladino. Attendance is free but registration is required if you are not attending the workshop. Registration and further details can be found here.
