• Explored information about student trends (national and university-specific), their mental health, and how to best support their needs. 

• Reflected and engaged in different ways (e.g., the Universal Design for Learning) to support students academically and personally. 

• Reviewed the essentials of mastery learning to build resiliency and how to provide opportunities for practice, self-assessment, and reflection within my course.

Discussion Project (3-day workshop, Jan 15-18, 2023 & Two-Semester Implementation Fall 2022 - Spring 2023)

• Attended the 3-day workshop offered by the Wisconsin Center for Education Research at the University of Wisconsin - Madison.

• Obtained knowledge to create an equitable and inclusive classroom climate conducive to high-quality discussion.

• Learned and experienced different ways to (1) structure and facilitate discussion and (2) craft questions that foster discussions.

• Designed, implemented, and reflected on plans for discussions and strategies that developed students' discussion skills for over two semesters.

• Developed skills to design a blended course that leverages the best of online and in-person instruction to create a seamless learning experience for students
