Chemical Engineer from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Campus Manizales. Currently pursuing my PhD in Hybrid Modeling of Bioprocesses. 

Researcher on Process Systems Engineering, with a focus on modeling and simulation of heterogeneous reactors as well as Machine Learning techniques applied to Chemical Engineering. I have experience in wastewater treatment using electrochemical processes.

I have taught courses on Heat Transfer Processes, with special emphasis on the design of Heat Exchangers. I have also taught courses on pilot plant operation, guiding students on real-life fermentation and saponification applications.

During my master's, I modeled and simulated an industrial falling film reactor, emphasizing the description of gas-liquid mass transfer of the substances. I applied the Maxwell-Stefan formalism to describe the transport of the substances, considering that each phase behaved as a non-ideal thermodynamic mixture. The model was evaluated in both a pseudobinary and a multi-component approach. The results obtained are consistent with the values measured in the plant.

Currently researching the intersection of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence with bioprocess design and operation, focusing on enhancing performance with data-driven techniques while preserving interpretability, explainability, and robustness.
