Skills Tests
As part of my journey to get into a PhD program, I applied for many RA/Predoc positions. Most of these positions include a skills test in which the applicant must show that they are profficient on programming in one of the softwares most widely used by research economists, such as Stata, R, and Matlab.
The following folder is the result of compiling the tests I had to take, along with others that friends and colleagues kindly shared with me:
I would recommend you to time yourself while completing these tests, since you are only given a fixed number of hours to submit your results after you receive them. Finally, if you would like to add to this collective effort, feel free to send me an email with the materials and I will upload them to the folder!
