Capstone Project: Gaming Disorder
This is a mock-Scientific American article exploring gaming disorder, which was classified by the World Health Organization as a behavioral disorder in 2018. This scientific magazine article is targeted for the audience of Scientific American, consisting of adults aged 30s and older who have some level of scientific literacy and may have interest in mental health and neuroscience. Through this article, I hoped to explain what gaming disorder is and the current scientific evidence backing it while also exploring the sociocultural contexts that drive the controversies and discourse surrounding the disorder.
