n1 sinθ1 = n2 sinθ2
One cannot see the true reality,
When you're underwater, apparently.
Everything is distorted, st re tc he d, or cmprssd,
Just because the rays of light are bent.
I am just an average person in this universe
I must not remind myself that
I can be who I dream to be
for it is a fact that
that I cannot defy the laws of science
it would be silly to think,
What if I could switch with another universe?
(how about backwards?)
Take me to the dream world, dear,
where there is no such thing as fear,
and everything’s crystal clear,
to the eye, to the ear.
Do you remember the 21st night of September?
When the streets went as silent as still water?
When the night went blacker than the corner?
When the dove was caged and forced to surrender?
Our hearts were beaten in the rhythm of marching soldiers.
As they brought the placards into tears and broken shoulders.
Termites that intruded homes with no mercy nor consent.
The mouth of the Motherland never even got to lament.
Do you remember the 21st night of September?
When the whole nation went to stumble and stutter,
With what the television in their living rooms said?
With what the front page of the newspaper said?
The doves were left in the never-ending night,
The lions beat them away from public sight,
They made them sit in those metal chairs for supper.
Flash! And the last thing they saw was Grim Reaper.
Do you remember how many of them suffered?
Disappeared with no reason, gone into thin air?
Decades and years have passed after that dictator,
Have you forgot? Can you please at least remember?
Even though this is composed of words,
Spoken through vibrating vocal chords,
It has no soul nor a beating heart,
Fragments of sentences torn apart.
Its rhythm's worse than an abstract symphony,
A collection of sounds, a faulty cacophony.
A villainous scheme is hidden in its rhyme,
The lines do not fit, in any way, in any time.
It has no direction, a bumpy crooked road,
With a deceptive style, it's just a time fraud.
Why do you still listen to this utter nonsense?
You're just wasting your time, waiting for suspense.
If this has a message, then it's merely simple,
It just wants to be read by a handful of people.
But if that handful turns to an army, it will surely cry,
For this is not a poem, just the author who is shy.
All my life, I looked at the stars in the night sky,
And glanced at the wonders of astronomy.
The deep cosmos was mesmerizing to the eye,
So I started painting, to capture that memory.
I entered this school for my love of science,
But along I formed this new-found talent.
I aimed to be a future astronomer,
But with this skill, I could be a painter.
And I started joining those competitions,
Showcasing my art, getting better and better.
I gained many awards and recognitions,
But I think it’s just luck and not my effort.
“Why?” you will ask, and my reason is weird,
I think that my friends are better artists than me.
All their life, they painted the beauty of nature,
Yet I am just a newbie, painting simple pictures.
My pal Marco, for example, he’s like Da Vinci,
With an eye for detail, texture, and harmony.
That every dot, stroke, and brushes of color,
Make a majestic picture that’ll make you stutter.
Or Paulita, my secret crush, a real child prodigy,
Painting landscapes in detail from the age of three.
It is them who had years of hard work,
Perfecting the craft, putting in lots of effort,
How do I compare with those art geniuses?
I’m just an amateur in this creative field.
All those applauds to me were worthless,
Compared to the skills of my peer artists.
These feelings got me to a point where,
A single error, or an incorrect color,
Will cause a continuous domino effect,
Leading to humiliation and laughter.
As if I was a dim star, afraid of the night,
Afraid to face the stars’ sparkling light.
But inside each glowing light,
Hides their feelings full of fright.
They too were afraid of a single mistake,
Thinking their reputation’s always at stake,
Thinking the much better art others can make,
Thinking that all their efforts were simply fake.
I, them, we think we’re imposters,
Bright stars with a dull, earthy luster.
So twinkle, twinkle, little dim star
Learn to be proud of who you are,
And one day, when I look from afar,
You’ll shine brighter, brighter than you are.
Rainbows and flowers, crayons and action figures,
The life of a little child, away from life’s tortures.
The life I wished I had lived when I was four.
Now, everything’s too late. I’ll explain it more.
As the children played piko and Chinese garter,
I’m stuck in my house, reading books until dinner.
As the children run and roam the cemented street,
My mind runs with ideas, yet my mind’s not complete.
How I wish I could free myself from this isolation,
To glide and fly like a seed of a little dandelion.
If only my parents have none of these “standards”,
If only I can learn how to move time backwards.
Trophies and medals are displayed on my shelf,
Yet a void still exists in my heart, in my self.
How would it feel to win the games that children play,
Or to have an imagination, as bright as a summer day.
How they view the world as a sea of adventure,
Hidden wonders, waiting to be discovered.
They do not care about the sweat from the sun’s heat,
The joy of having friends, makes their heart complete.
It’s as if I have no memory of my own past,
A memory so fun, a memory that’ll last.
Pages of books, symbols, letters, and numbers,
Are the only things that my mind remembers.
Now that I’m turning adult, I still have no clue,
How can I steal back precious time that flew?
All these golden medals will never equate,
Smiles and laughters from a friend or a classmate.
I’m too old to play piko and Chinese garter,
I’m just in my house, doing research while dinner.
I can’t run and roam the empty cemented street,
My mind runs with thoughts, why am I not complete?
If there was a machine that can travel through time,
O, the games that I’ll play, the trees that I’ll climb,
The friends I’ll make, the memories I’ll build,
If only I can, then my self will be fulfilled.
So if I die and start another exciting adventure,
I’ll savor every minute, every second, every moment.
I’ll focus on the present, not the past, not the future.
I’ll be loud and brave, and stop being silent.
To myself, 10 years ago, I am deeply sorry,
You’re my past, but I have no memory.
Now that I’ve grown, I make this promise,
I’ll make memories, ones that you’ll cherish.
As fun as playing piko and Chinese garter,
As delightful as a warm and tasty family dinner,
As beautiful as the flowers at the side of the street.
Before I die, I promise, I’ll make your life complete.
You're that shining star in the midst of the night.
The guides me in my journey and gives me sight.
You gave me strength and removed my fright.
Yet I can't reach you, your tremendous height.
We are the movie stars in my lucid dreams,
Where we teamed together and do the extremes.
Oh, our laughs, our cries, our smiles, and our screams.
But only then are we close, in those lucid dreams.
Why cannot our love be a reality,
When we have such an excellent chemistry?
Here I am, alone, in this cold soliloquy.
Trying to get to you, here in my memory.
It seems like our love's a forbidden fruit.
Guarded by those people who can't handle the truth.
They seem like the judges of the underworld.
Our eyes can't meet, our hands can't hold.
I tried every way, again and again.
But if I die, remember this true,
If loving you was a mortal sin,
Then I'd rather go to hell, with you.
Memories of the past reawaken,
Like a burning fire quickly spreading.
Faces and not pictures are seen once again.
This was the life that I was dreaming.
I am so far away,
Can't see you in my sight.
I miss you at day.
I miss you at night.
The next time I'll meet you,
Is the greatest day of my life.
That day is nearer than near.
To which I do not fear.
Sweet are the simple pleasures of life.
Bitter are the hardships we have to strive.
Plain coffee is bitter unless we add some sugar.
Think like a proton, so that the problems are over.
The cold,
winter wind
from the northeast,
surprised me
once
when it
whispered
to me,

secretly
smiled,

In life, there are moments when we feel lost,
When our minds are clouded by doubt and cost,
But deep within, our hearts know the way,
That will lead us towards a more brighter day.
We must follow our passions, without fear,
For when we do, our purpose becomes clear,
And every step we take, we will find,
A state of happiness and peace of mind.
There may be obstacles along the way,
But with a positive mindset, we can stray,
From the negative thoughts that hold us back,
And focus on the light that guides our track.
With each new dawn, we have a chance,
To live our lives with love and romance,
To cherish every moment, every breath,
And be grateful for life's sweetest gifts.
So let your heart be your guide,
And in yourself, always confide,
Believe in the power of your dreams,
And life will be more than it seems.
Embrace the journey, and let it be,
A testament to your bravery,
For in following your heart, you will see,
The beauty that life can truly be.
I mastered orthoepy,
Yet I stutter when talking.
I took sessions of therapy,
Yet my thoughts, confusing.
Sometimes, I may be a flibbertigibbet.
My mouth is hurt and sore.
My love for you won't be a secret.
You're the one that I adore.
Sometimes, I am a jobbernowl.
My mind is a gigantic puzzle.
My love for you wouldn't be foul.
With my pure heart, you'll be bedazzled.
I was diagnosed with brachymetropia.
I need you to always be near me.
So that I could always see ya.
And I could show my love for thee.
If only I had wings to fly,
And flutter like a butterfly,
I will go to any place that I want,
Visit Paris or a fancy restaurant.
If only I had a huge wealth,
What a merry feeling I'd've felt.
I could buy those elegant dresses,
And help those that are homeless.
If only I was free like a dove,
Free to smile and free to love,
Free to sing, dance, and rant,
Free to do anything I'd ever want.
Yet I was a bird, locked in a cage,
A hunger for freedom, an inside rage.
The key was thrown to the eye of the river,
And here I am locked forever.
Show who you are,
Do not be afraid,
When you go near or far,
Remember what you made.
As I look at the horizon,
To see the setting sun,
The sky turned golden,
And showed me heaven
Bright are the sun's rays,
Pointing to the mountain peak.
A plane flew in the skies,
Leaving a line or streak.
They say life is fun ride,
Full of ups and downs,
Going slow and going fast,
Full of twists and turns.
Although I get dizzy,
I enjoyed each moment.
So that it'll start and end fun.
Because there'll be no second one.
Butterflies' wings shyly flutter,
As they reflect a shiny luster.
They whisper to the petals,
Telling stories of royals,
With wealth measuring their power.
The night sky smiles as I look at him.
Myths and legends, deep inside him,
From Cassiopeia to Venus and Orion,
The myths slowly fade.
As the sun rises at the horizon.
Nothing can be sharper than a line of words.
They're sharper than sabres, machetes, or swords.
It can pierce through someone's heart and mind,
And left a mark that'll last through time.
The water so clear, skies so bright,
The unforgettable smell of H2O and Ca(ClO)2.
Splashes and sploshes of water in the pool.
The northern wind blows with a breeze so cool.
The world was black and white,
The sun above gave no light,
People with mournful faces,
Walking at slow paces.
The painter came back to town,
With a brush and a gleaming gown.
Every object in sight was painted,
That removed all the frowns.
In a war between the reds and the blues,
I'm standing between the fighting hues.
I am Switzerland, covered in snow.
Which side do I belong?
I still don't even know.
The road was shining,
Everyone can agree,
But on the far distance,
Bumps and cracks we can see.
There's a part where it is clean,
There's a part where it is muddy,
You thought it was forever,
But it really has an ending.
O, road made of gold,
You're once full of furnishes,
But time passed by,
And you soon turned to ashes.
Not everything good lasts forever,
Some things really change, if you really ponder,
Let us take a journey on this yellow road,
Traveling farther as we get old.
So sad, so lonely,
Nobody around me.
So lazy, so bored,
A heart pierced by a sword.
So angry, so mad,
Everything seems so bad.
So frightful, so scared,
Like no one ever cared.
So hopeless, so helpless,
Like the world was mindless.
Breathing in, breathing out.
Trapped in a box, I can't get out.
Helpless, I cry out loud.
But everybody can't hear a single sound.
I'm lonely my--self,
Just with the sparrows.
I'm just sad and lonely,
Somebody that nobody knows.
You are a shining star,
In the middle of the dark night.
Through an everlasting war,
You didn't stop the fight.
You kept moving, persevering.
Through the unforeseeable battle.
Remember that you're the best.
And you deserve, a fun and comfortable rest.
A pink rose blooms,
On the crack of the sidewalk,
On the dark, foggy street.
People do not dare,
to step on it.
How bravely she rose,
From the hard concrete ground.
How bravely she pushed,
To see the morning sun.
I am writing
A
Short but constrained poem
Using
The first digits of a
Mathematically important non-repeating real irrational constant symbolized by the
Greek letter
π. 🥧 Is an emoji a word?
I do not think so.
🎁
The sun rises from the east,
Symbol of joy, hope and opportunities.
Let's rejoice and seize this little moment.
Put problems aside, focus on the present 🎁.
I wake up in the morning
With a weight on my chest
The thought of facing the day
Feels like a daunting test
My mind is filled with darkness
As I struggle to find the light
I feel like I'm trapped in a tunnel
And I can't see an end in sight
My thoughts are like a rollercoaster
That never seems to stop
I'm overwhelmed and exhausted
From trying to make it to the top
The world feels like it's spinning
And I can't keep up with the pace
I feel like I'm suffocating
And I can't catch my breath or my space
The pain inside is unbearable
And the tears won't stop falling
I feel like I'm drowning in sorrow
And I can't hear my own calling
The darkness is consuming me
And I can't find a way out
I'm lost in the void of my mind
And I'm filled with fear and doubt
But even in the midst of the darkness
A glimmer of hope still shines
A reminder that I'm not alone
And that help is always in line
So I take a deep breath and reach out
To the people who love and care
And slowly, day by day,
I find my way out of despair.
What will you do if the last bell rings?
Will you sleep on a tree as the robins sing?
Will you leave your home and go for adventure?
Or make an invention that will change the future?
Life is full of pathways
Getting progressively harder
All the gates are open
For all of us to yonder
Will you write your own autobiography?
Or wait until a fruit fall from a tree?
Will you paint a memory you'll never forget?
Or play a melody on an old clarinet?
Life has no limits
You just need to explore
Do the things that you want
Before we turn to stone.
So what? What should all of us do?
When, where, how will it happen?
No one knows when that bell will chime.
It could happen anywhere, and anytime.
Seize every moment of your life.
Do anything that will make you smile.
As long as you are doing what is right,
When darkness comes, there'll be light!
Humans, unite!
Don't you have eyes?
Why can't you see your house falling down?
Don't you have ears?
Why can't you hear the melting ice, the quaking earth, and the people's voice?
Don't you have hands?
Why can't you do a step to prevent the unexplainable future?
im imprfect, and so are U,
for im only human, and you're human 2.
the world is unfair and that is true,
but still there is me and there is U.
I'm an island in the vast sea,
So small, no one can see me.
Hope and joy are lost in the past.
As I live the lonely days,
Until it was the last.
Should I make this or should I make that?
Should I do this or should I do that?
Should I turn left or should I turn right?
I do not know what to do tonight.
A new chapter closes,
A new chapter opens.
Moments make memories,
And memories make history.
As we sat down and relax,
After we pushed it to the max.
We deserved a break,
From the struggles we had,
And the history we make.
As I gaze to the starry night sky
A particle of light moved.
I thought it was a meteorite
But it was a firefly with a light so bright
I hurried to the shore to catch it
After many tries, I finally did it
That yellow light flew to my hand
So sparkly, like a magic wand.
