My name is Juan Cancel (short for Juan Diego Cancel Rosario) and I'm currently a 5th year MIT grad student interested in phonology and morphology. Most of my reasearch has been about understanding the morphophonology of Nganasan, a Northern Samoyedic language. Nowadays, I am currently working on what I call 'cross-categorial syncretisms'; i.e. syncretisms which span multiple lexical categories.
