About JT

JT, aka John Townsend, has been entertaining audiences for over 50 years. Originally from the Philadelphia area, he moved to South Carolina in 2014.

Inspired by the early R&B legends of the '60s and '70s, JT has been lending his smooth voice to many genres of music. 

JT has played bass guitar and saxophone for other groups, but for this single act, he plays his favorite instrument - a Fender Stratocaster synth guitar.

Spend an evening with him and you will hear Motown, Southern Soul, Blues, Country, Jazz, Classic rock, and Beach Music favorites.  Appearing in the Myrtle Beach, South Carolina area, he can provide all audiences with all of the "remember when" songs from the 50's through the 90's.

JT has been seen performing in the duo Creampuffs and Bourbon which ended in 2023. He has since appeared with Smokey Lee as JT and Smokey Lee. And his newest venture is an exciting duo with Emily Little, known as JT and Friends.
