Project- I am interested in understanding how cortical neurogenesis occurs in an amazingly orchestrated manner?
Prior affiliation- Bachelor of Pharmacy from BBD University, Lucknow
Hobbies- I follow stand-up comedy, cricket and Indian politics religiously.
Project: Role of Wnt signaling in forebrain development
Prior affiliation: MS (Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore)
Prior affiliation - Graduated with BS-MS Dual Degree: Biology Majors, from Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Berhampur in 2021.
Ph.D Project – Under the supervision of Dr. Jonaki Sen, I am interested in Neural Progenitor Cells which give rise to all the cell types and neurons responsible for neocortex development. My question of interest would be to determine molecular factors, which function to decide the plane of division in a Neural Progenitor Cell and thereby control symmetric and asymmetric divisions during early embryonic brain development.
Hobbies – As an ardent animal lover by nature, I love to care for dogs. My artistic hobbies include singing, dancing and binge watching anime. Nevertheless, basketball, table tennis and badminton are also my sport interests
I did my MSc in Zoology from DBS College, CSJM University, Kanpur. I joined the lab as Ph.D. student in December 2019. I'm interested in investigating the molecule mechanisms leading to the change in cell morphology during forebrain roof plate development.
Hobbies- art and craft, nature photography
Project- Understanding the mechanistic and molecular role of forebrain mesenchyme in dorsal roof plate midline invagination & Three-dimensional modelling of the chick forebrain roof plate
Prior affiliations- B.Tech in Biotechnology from Heritage Institute of Technology, West Bengal
Hobbies- Essentially anything fun I can make time for: Reading, manga, anime, badminton, chess, cricket

Prior affiliation- M.Sc. Botany, CSJMU Kanpur
Project: Role of NeuroD in vertebrate forebrain patterning
Hobbies- Optional
I am Aishwarya, a Ph.D. student under the supervision of Dr. Jonaki Sen. I have done B.Sc. Microbiology from North Bengal University and M.Sc. Microbiology from Pondicherry University. Currently I am working on understanding the role of various metabolism related genes in the development of the ventral forebrain and the hindbrain boundary. I work on the developing chick embryo. Apart from the experiments and studying that I do, I enjoy reading novels and traveling.
Prior affiliation:
M.Sc. in Biochemistry (Central University of Rajasthan).

DBT BET 2022 (fellowship)
Joined Dr. Jonaki Sen's lab in July 2022
