Greetings! My name is Jamaal Johnson, and I am a Doctoral Student in the Educational Technology Leadership program at New Jersey City University, where I am part of Cohort 12. I currently serve as a School Counselor and Industry Engagement Officer in the Orange Township Public School District. Before this role, I worked with the Federal TRIO program, the College Preparatory Incentive Program. My experience in higher education includes serving at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, in both admissions and registrar roles for the School of Health Professions and the School of Nursing.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and Criminal Justice from Rutgers University–Newark and a master’s degree in Mental Health and School Counseling from New Jersey City University. During my graduate studies, I served on the Executive Board of Chi Sigma Iota, the Counseling Honor Society. I am currently the full-time graduate assistant in the Educational Technology Leadership Department. I remain actively involved in the profession as a member of both the Essex County School Counselor Association and the New Jersey School Counselor Association.
