The following are plants that were sold at J & S Garden events... Here's how to keep them healthy!
SUCCULENTS
Light: Bright, indirect light
Water: Water the soil thoroughly when the top inch of soil feels dry to the touch. Don't water directly on to the succulent; water the soil only.
Other info: Succulents are a great low maintenance plants!
POTHOS
Light: Bright, indirect light but can also adapt to low light.
Water: Let the soil dry out. Water thoroughly when the top inch of soil feels dry to the touch.
Other info: Pothos plants are one of the EASIEST plants to care for!
ROPE HOYA
Light: Bright, indirect light. Tolerates medium light.
Water: Allow the soil to dry completely between watering. Water approximately every two weeks.
Other info: This is a semi-succulent plant so it's relatively drought tolerant & great for beginners!
FITTONIA
Light: Bright, indirect light. Tolerates medium light.
Water: Weekly- Keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy. Water when the top of the soil feels dry.
Other info: Also called the "nerve plant" because of the vein-like patterns on the leaves.
AIR PLANTS
Light: Bright, indirect light
Water: Submerge the plant in a bowl of room-temperature water for 20-30 minutes once a week. After soaking, gently shake off excess water & let dry completely upside down for 1-3 hours. Proper drying is crucial to prevent rot.
Other info: Air plants don't need soil to grow so you can display them in a variety of ways. They are unique & low maintenance.
ARALIA
Light: Low light
Water: Water when the top inch of soil feels dry. Avoid overwatering as this can lead to root rot; it is better to underwater than overwater.
Other info: The aralia plant is special because of its ability to purify the air & it's easy to care for! It will drop leaves when too cold.
SANSEVIERIA
Light: Bright, indirect light but can survive in lower light conditions
Water: Allow the soil to dry out almost completely between waterings. This may be as little as once a month in low light.
Other info: Also known as "snake plant". Sansevierias have air-purifying qualities because they can filter toxins and produce oxygen at night.
