To access released items from the computer-based tests: View the released items using the ePATs (electronic practice assessment tools) at the MCAS Resource Center. A released-item answer key is provided for each ePAT.

Visit the MCAS Resource Center to access practice tests for ELA, Mathematics, STE and Civics. These practice tests are an important tool for familiarizing students with MCAS test formats and item types.

Do you want to know what taking the Mathematics portion of the NJSLA is like? A practice test for each grade is available below for you to use to familiarize yourself with the kinds of items and format used for the tests

Information on Accessibility Features  The full list of accessibility features embedded for all students and accessibility features that need to be identified in advance can be found in the NJ Accessibility Features and Accommodations Manual.. Answer masking, color contrast (background/font color) and text-to-speech for mathematics and science, are available for all participating students who need these tools, but need to be identified in advance via the Personal Needs Profile (PNP).

Large Print  To print Large Print Paper Practice Tests to the optimal enlargement of 150% to 18 point font, they must be printed on 14" x 18" paper. Do not use print scaling or fit-to-page in your printer settings. Large Print Paper Practice Tests can also be printed on 11" x 17" paper by adjusting print scaling to less than 100% or by selecting fit-to-page in your printer settings.

Tactile Graphics  Tactile graphics are images that use raised surfaces so that a person who is blind or visually impaired can feel them. They are used to convey non-textual information such as maps, paintings, graphs, and diagrams. Tactile graphics are required for students using Screen Reader or downloadable .BRF versions for the Grade 8 ELA and all Mathematics tests because the non-textual information cannot be displayed electronically or printed/embossed via a downloadable .BRF file. If you have a student who is blind or has a visual impairment and who requires tactile graphics to take the practice tests, please contact assessment@doe.nj.gov.

Kangourou sans Frontires (KSF) is an independent association, whose purpose is to organise the annual Kangaroo contest with the aim of promoting mathematics among young people around the world. Each year over six million school pupils aged 5 to 18 from more than 50 countries throughout the world take part at various levels. Awards are given to the top scoring students per grade at the national level. We decide to provide here a collections of past papers and solutions for those who wish to practice the math problems.

In the early 80's, Peter O'Halloran a math teacher at Sydney, invented a new kind of game in Australian schools: a multiple choice questionnaire, corrected by computer, which meant that thousands of pupils could participate at the same time. It was a tremendous success for the Australian Mathematical National Contest.

Information on Accessibility Features and Accommodations   The full list of accessibility features and accommodations for the MCAP Assessments can be found in the Maryland Assessment Accessibility & Accommodations Policy Manual. Answer masking, color contrast (background/font color) and text-to-speech for mathematics, are available for all participating students who need these tools, but need to be identified in advance via the Personal Needs Profile (PNP).

STEP (Sixth Term Examination Paper) Mathematics is a well-established mathematics examination designed to test candidates on questions that are similar in style to undergraduate mathematics.

The test consists of up to two 3-hour paper-based examinations: STEP 2 and STEP 3. Candidates are usually required to sit either one or two of the examinations, depending on the requirements of the universities they have applied to.

STEP 2 is based on A Level Mathematics and AS Level Further Mathematics. The paper has 12 questions across three sections: the first contains 8 pure questions, the second contains 2 mechanics questions, and the third contains 2 probability/statistics questions.

STEP 3 is based on A Level Mathematics and A Level Further Mathematics. The paper has 12 questions across three sections: the first contains 8 pure questions, the second contains 2 mechanics questions, and the third contains 2 probability/statistics questions.

As before, each question will have the maximum mark of 20. In each paper, candidates will be assessed on the six questions best answered; no restriction will be placed on the number of questions that may be attempted from any section and all questions attempted will be marked.

The Supplement to the Test Implementation Manuals provides the information the DDOT and STC must use for the management of paper testing materials for the Growth Assessments, Writing SOL tests, Non-Writing SOL tests, and Virginia Alternate Assessment Program (VAAP) test administrations.

The Testing Irregularity Web Application System (TIWAS) provides a method for submitting and resolving testing irregularities. Division Directors of Testing and School Test Coordinators submit information using the online system, TIWAS. Examiners should report testing irregularities immediately. Division Directors of Testing may resolve irregularities locally or submit irregularities to VDOE with 24 hours of receipt of the irregularity. All irregularities involving a retest situation should be submitted to the VDOE.

SOL tests are designed to assess whether students meet specific minimum expectations for learning and achievement expressed in the Standards of Learning. Tests are developed through an extensive process of review and field testing to ensure that tests are fair and of appropriate difficulty for the grade or course.

Virginia teachers, school administrators, and content specialists participate in the development of SOL assessments by serving on committees that review test items and forms to ensure that they measure student knowledge accurately and fairly.

VDOE releases sample sets of SOL tests that were administered during a previous test administration. Released tests and items are not inclusive of all assessments administered during the previous year but are representative of the content and skills assessed. Released tests and test items are available online.

AASA is the statewide achievement test for Arizona students in Grades 3-8. All Arizona public school students in Grades 3-8 will take the grade level AASA assessments in English Language Arts and Mathematics.

Arizona's test development process involves an extensive review before an item will count toward students' test scores. During the item-development process, all assessment items are written in accordance with Item Specifications. A committee of Arizona educators reviews and approves the items to confirm alignment and appropriateness for inclusion on the test. Each step in the process is designed to ensure that test results are valid, reliable, and appropriate for Arizona students, families, and other members of Arizona communities. Participating educators are representatives of Arizona's geographic regions and represent culturally diverse populations. For these committees, we are inviting content area teachers, teachers of students with disabilities, teachers of EL students, and instructional coaches/administrators to provide their perspective on the items and standards set on Arizona's statewide assessments. If you are interested in serving on an Assessment Educator Committee, please complete the form linked below.

Test Administration InformationSpring 2024 Testing ModeThe Testing Mode Application was open in ADEConnect September 18 - October 13, 2023.All Achievement testing (AASA, AzSCI, ACT, and ACT Aspire) is, by default, administered to students by computer. Requests for schools to administer paper tests must be received within ADEConnect within the above window.

Special Paper Version Tests Special Paper Version (SPV) tests are available for students unable to use a computer based on their daily instruction and IEP or 504 plan. SPV tests include Braille, large print, and regular print paper tests.

Has the shift from paper to online testing led to lower scores on standardized tests? Researchers Ben Backes and James Cowan of the American Institutes for Research explored the question by examining two years of results (2015 and 2016) from the PARCC assessment in Massachusetts, where some districts delivered the tests online and others stuck with paper. We sat down with Backes to discuss his somewhat surprising findings.

Not to the extent we thought. The exceptions were at the bottom of the distribution for English Language Arts. Students who came in with lower scores tended to be the ones whose performance was measured to be even worse when they switched to online testing. The other groups most affected were the limited English proficiency and special education students. 17dc91bb1f
