I am interested in the mathematical description and analysis of dynamic physical phenomena. My group's work typically involves fluid flow and mass/heat transport in systems that are nonlinear and stochastic. We investigate problems in diverse contexts and address questions from engineering, geophysics, and biology.
Research Areas:
Instabilities and pattern formation
Turbulent transport
Mathematical modelling
Topics of recent work:
Mucus flow and aerosol transport in ciliated lung airways
Polymer dynamics in turbulent solutions
Mechanochemical waves in the actomyosin cortex
Gas-solid reaction-rate estimation
Openings:
Vacant postdoc positions under the IITB Institute Postdoctoral Fellowship scheme, to work on (i) physiological flows, and (ii) multiscale modelling of batteries. Write to me for further information.
