In Our Time: Melyvn Bragg hosts historians who are specialists in the subject they are discussing and asks them poignant questions to keep the debate going.

Tides of History: Dr. Patrick Wyman is a highly qualified and entertaining presenter who tries to put listeners in the shows of those who is talking about.
Dan Carlin's Hardcore History: Dan Carlin may not provide the same level of detail as some other podcasts but he certainly makes up for it with his enthusiasm! He really does bring the past to life.
History on Fire: Professor Bolelli is Italian which is a refreshing change to the accents on usual podcasts and he also provides excellent detail.
Human Circus: Journeys Through the Medieval World: With Human Circus, Devon Field takes you along with medieval history's most interesting travellers, whether they be merchant, friar, pilgrim, crusader, soldier, ambassador, or explorer.
Stuff What They Tell Me: Stuff What You Tell Me! is a podcast telling stories of rebellion and resistance in history, art and culture.
