About

I am a development economist and team leader for health economics at the Bernhard-Nocht-Institute for Tropical Medicine (BNITM). Previously, I worked at the German Institute for Global and Area Studies (GIGA), Indonesia's Vice President Office for the fight against poverty (TNP2K), and KfW Development Bank. 

I hold a PhD in economics from the University of Göttingen under the supervision of professors Stephan Klasen, Axel Dreher, and Matin Qaim. Recently, I have begun to regularly teach again at the University of Göttingen.

I am a permanent member of the Research Group on Development Economics at the German Economic Association (VfS), member of the German Association for Health Economics (dggö), an affiliate of the Hamburg Center for Health Economics (HCHE) and associated member of the European Development Network (EUDN). 

Over the last years, I was involved in several fascinating projects with many amazing people and organizations. In this context, I had the chance to visit and work in numerous beautiful countries such as Ethiopia, Gabon, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Zambia.
