Welcome to the JPPM Public Archaeology
Registration Portal
REGISTRATION FOR 2025 IS NOW CLOSED!
Every year, members of the public are given the opportunity to see what it is like to be an archaeologist and excavate an actual site, through our Public Archaeology Program. You can help us dig and screen for artifacts in the field or wash objects. It’s a fun way for the whole family to learn about the past. Who knows what great discoveries await you?
The program runs from 9 am to 3 pm, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, beginning on May 1st and running through May 30th, 2025. Join us for field excavations and hands-on all-ages outdoor activities. Bring appropriate clothes for getting a little dirty and pack a lunch if you intend on staying all day! In the event of torrential rain, all activities will take place indoors doing lab processing of artifacts.
Children aged 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Though the program is free - space is limited to 8 people per day and registration is mandatory. To view available slots for each day, click here.
To sign up, choose a date (or dates) below by clicking the link to open the registration form. We kindly ask that you please register only if you intend on attending the event and only a maximum of 2 days per person/group, as space is limited. If your plans change, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can offer the program to others.
NOTE: A registration form will need to be filled out for each member of your party. Please limit to 2 days per person/group.
