Applications are invited from motivated and eligible candidates for the position of JRF (1 position) and teaching assistants (2 positions) positions in a research project entitled “Drug diffusion studies in Skin-on-a-Chip Devices: Numerical Simulations and Experiments”, sponsored by Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Govt. of India.

      Research areas keywords:

(1)  Experimental Microfluidics, Microscopy & Imaging, Microfabrication techniques

(2)  Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Fluid flow & Mass Transfer, Mathematical Modelling and Simulations

(3)  Animal cell culture, knowledge of skin structure, Assessing the safety and potential side effects of topical drugs.

(4)  Electrode function, signal processing, impedance measurement, data acquisition, microcontroller/processor programming


1.    Essential Ǫualification:

 

B.E/B.Tech or M.E/M.Tech

        Mechanical/ Chemical/ Biomedical Engineering/ Biotechnology, Electrical/

       Electronic or any other relevant branch


Desirable:

Working experience in Microfluidics, CFD Software’s, Animal cell culturing, data acquisition with impedance measurement

Rs. 31,000/month + HRA, as per rules, for a duration of 12 months (Fellowship will be provided as per the funding agency rules).

NOTE:

     About the project:

The project deals with the diffusion of drugs in skin-on-a-chip devices. Candidates with Mechanical/Chemical or relevant background, if selected, will be involved in the project.

PhD Registration: The selected candidate may be considered for admission to the PhD program as a regular full-time scholar depending on the eligibility criteria and available extended funding.

Hostel: The selected candidate may get hostel accommodation inside the campus based on availability. If hostel accommodation is not available, student will have to stay in accommodation that may be available adjacent (i.e., outside) to the campus.
