I fell in love with the game when I was in 4th grade and never looked back. I love to work hard and get in the gym, and know after every workout I'm getting better. I also love the mental and competitive side to the game. There's nothing more I hate than losing, and every time I play I want to win. I play because I love the game and I want to give back to my mom. It's just me and her, and just seeing how hard she works motivates me to go harder on the court and in the classroom. Mentally, you have to be strong to play this game, and the weak are eaten up alive.
"Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard."-Kevin Durant
I live by this quote because of how true I found it to be. As you start to work harder than your competitors, you start to see a gap in skill set. I may not be the quickest, strongest, or fastest but you will not out work me no matter what!
My mom is my biggest motivator and I know she always has my back when I need her. Knowing that it's only me and her here (family in Brazil) we continue to push as I need to reach my goals.
I am a high honor student at Immaculate High School who is dedicated to school. As a junior I am currently taking two honors science classes and am currently excelling in both My goal is to be an Anesthesiologist to help save people's lives. Yes this is a big burden but with time and years of school I feel I can accomplish this.
I can speak three languages as the first language I learned was Portuguese when my grandma taught me as a little kid. I can speak Portuguese, English, and Spanish. Both my parents were born in Brazil and I was born in the United States.
